decompdex
Privacy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
This page explains what decompdex stores when you create an account, score a build, or leave a comment.
What we collect
- Account: display name, email address, password hash, verification state, and session records. We never store your password in plain text.
- Scores: your account id, the port scored, a score from 1 to 10, and timestamps. Scores are public only as an aggregate; we do not publish who voted.
- Comments: your display name, comment body, timestamps, and reports. Comments are public. Your email is not shown.
- Operational data: IP address and user agent for sessions, security rate limits, and abuse prevention; request logs may be retained briefly by our hosting provider.
Why we use it
To run accounts, prevent spam and duplicate votes, moderate comments, respond to abuse, and keep the catalog working. We do not sell personal data.
Processors
We use Cloudflare for hosting and security, Turso for the account and community database, and Resend for transactional email when configured. Their own privacy terms apply to their processing.
Cookies and storage
decompdex uses a first-party session cookie when you sign in, plus browser storage for theme and cache. The catalog cache does not contain account or comment data. There are no advertising cookies.
Retention and deletion
Active sessions expire after seven days. Comments and scores remain while the account exists. To request account deletion or a copy of your data, email fpanizza@proton.me from the address on the account. Deleted comments may remain as removed placeholders where needed to keep reply context, but are not shown publicly.
Children
decompdex is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
We may update this page as the service changes. Material changes will be noted on the site.
